This standard applies to breather type sheathing membranes intended for use on the outside of heated buildings, under the external finish, as a secondary protective covering against the entry of wind and moisture. They are to provide moisture-resistant and draught-resistant barriers that do not impede the passage of water vapor and therefore minimize the condensation of such vapor.
